Dates and peeled almonds are heavy, wet, anabolic (building), and sattvic. They are grounding and build Ojas (immunity). This snack is balanced, especially for Vata and Pitta, and is appropriate for Kapha in small amounts.
Equipment Needed
Bowl for tossing the nuts with oil and spice
Cooling sheet for roasted nuts
Procedure
1. Toss the almonds in a small amount of oil, and then the spice blend
2. Place the almonds on a cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes, until browned. Set aside and cool.
3. Cut the dates in half (lengthwise), remove the pit, and then cut through.
4. You will take ½ the date, place the roasted almond in the date, and mold it back together.
