Peeled Almonds


Peeled Almonds

In Ayurveda, peeling almonds is essential for building Ojas. Soaking and peeling them is considered best, making them more easily digested and assimilated by the body.



Equipment Needed:

Small pot

Strainer

Paper/cloth towel

 

Ingredients

A hand full of almonds

 

Procedure

1.     Bring a small pot of water to boil

2.     Place the raw almonds in the boiling water for a minute

3.     Drain the almonds immediately in a strainer and rinse with cool water

4.     Push the almonds out of their skin with thumb and finger (I have experienced difficulty a few times with this process if the almonds are old, it is more challenging to remove their skins)
