Ginger Tea

Updated: Feb 18, 2023

Fresh ginger has the taste “rasa” of pungent and it is heating in nature with a sweet after taste. The consumption of ginger stimulates the digestive fire “Agni” and our appetites, and improves absorption and assimilation of essential nutrients in the body while scrapping away-undigested food in our system, called “Ama”. Being a powerful anti-inflammatory it reduces joint pain and aching muscles and also keeping the sinuses clear, relieves nausea, gas and stomach cramps.

Equipment Needed:

Pot for boiling water

Pot, French press or thermos

Ingredients:

1-quart Water

1-2 Tablespoons Fresh ginger

Sweetener to taste (I use 1-3 pinches of stevia herb)

Instructions:

Peel and then grate or slice the ginger very thin (I prefer grated)

Place the ginger in a pot, French press or thermos

Pour the boil water into the container and cover

If you are using a thermos then as you drink the tea you can replenish the water during the day.
